Assistant Principal/ Instructional Facilitator



DEPARTMENT:   Administrative JOB STATUS:  Full Time

POSITIONS SUPERVISED:  Teachers & Staff REPORTS TO:  Building Administrator

GRADE/LEVEL:  K-12 F.L.S.A:  Exempt

WORK SCHEDULE:  240 contracted days

 

POSITION SUMMARY

Working under supervision of the school principal, assists in administering the school in accordance with school board

policies and uses leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills to manage assigned school so as to promote the

educational development of each student.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To assist in providing a safe and orderly campus by being visible when students are present
  • To assist with staff development and provide leadership for professional growth
  • To provide professional development for all stakeholders on best practices, foundational skill acquisition, struggling

learners through collaborative team meetings and coaching adult learners

  • To assist in organizing, coordinating and supervising extra-curricular activities
  • To assist principal by providing instructional leadership and supervision, in part, by evaluating teacher performance in classrooms
  • To assist in the preparation and monitoring of the teacher duty schedule
  • To assist in requisitioning, ordering, and inventorying textbooks, supplies and equipment as well as maintaining records of lost and/or damaged goods
  • To continue personal professional growth
  • To maintain and increase knowledge of current research and best practices in assigned curriculum area(s) through

professional study

  • To perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by employee’s supervisor, the principal, or the

superintendent

  • To lead/ monitor special programs as assigned, including but not limited to 504, Special Education, Capturing Kids Hearts, Academics & IB
  • To perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by employee’s supervisor, the principal, or the superintendent

 

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of Master’s Degree with an accredited educational institution. Other requirements per job description.

 

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of three years of teaching teaching/ administrative experience, preferred, with Arkansas Highly Qualified Teacher designation status.  Other requirements per job description.




PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Hand-eye and mind-eye coordination.  Constant hearing; intermittent speaking, standing, walking and writing.  Frequent carrying, keyboarding, and other repetitive movements.  Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds as needed to move objects often.  

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Excellent oral and written communication skills.  Skills in human relations, leadership, and conflict management.  Knowledgeable of teaching techniques that meet the diverse needs of students.  Demonstrated skills in the use of technology to enhance student learning.
